It's happening everywhere else in major cities – I guess it's about time it came to this area-especially in Troy -lanes just for busses.

Troy is been doing some very innovative things in the past several years. I've always thought that the city of Troy has gotten a bad rap all along. If you go downtown you'll see some extremely nice, quaint shops and great reasons to spend an afternoon or evening.

It's also a nice city to work in.  I did it years ago.  I used to sell advertising at the Troy Record when I first moved to this area, and I can remember leaving the office with a bunch of guys and walking down to one of the sandwich shops or stopping off for a drink after hours (and that was --um--35 years ago!)

Fast forward to today - they're adding to the experience now with advances in their public transportation.

According to an article in the Times Union there's a plan to convert Fulton and Fourth Streets to allow separate lanes for bus traffic to go either direction even though their one-way streets.

This will give more access the buses to pick up passengers without having them run across the street.

I'm sure it's become a safety issue as well as a convenience alternative. Nice move, Troy! Keep coming with the innovations!

Great idea, and it's been a long time coming.
