Most all of us at GNA are animal lovers.  So, when I was approached with the idea to help 'senior' animals, I eagerly jumped at the opportunity.

While we have many fundraisers to help Pet Connection or local animal shelters, this event takes a different twist helping bring a voice to K-9 cancer.  The event was launched by Michele Newman-Gehrum who says that they launched the campaign "after losing our beloved Ni-Ni to terminal cancer. Since then we pledged to be a voice for the voiceless by advocating, growing, sharing, educating, and learning with others who are affected by this devastating disease. Our mission remains to help preserve the human/animal bond by fostering togetherness while equipping others with knowledge."

The big event known as the Mutt Strut will happen on Sunday, October 7, 2012 at The Crossings in Colonie (South Pavilion).  Everyone, including dogs, are welcome to attend the fun 2 mile run/walk to benefit the Senior Animal Medical Aid Fund.  All proceeds raised helps rehabilitate senior animals, provide a spiritual and peaceful safe haven for terminal senior animals, provide PAWSPICE care for terminal residents to thrive by use of homeopathic remedies as well as aid the efforts of others who share the mission through sponsorship of their senior animals.
