Country Music Hall of Famer Mel Tillis is recovering from Heart Surgery. The 81 year old Country Crooner, known for the hits 'Coca Cola Cowboy' 'I Got The Hoss' and 'Southern Rains,' is doing fine after a 'routine heart procedure.'

Mel Tillis joined me back in June at the CMA Music Festival for the Heritage Artist Panel, reuniting the stars of the 70s. Tillis was also recently honored by the President with a National Medal of Arts Award and continues to record and tour nationwide.

On a personal note, one of my favorite memories of all-time was hosting a Country Trivia game show with Mel Tillis in 2007, on board my Country Cruise with the Bellamy Brothers, Suzy Bogguss, Collin Raye, and Scooter Lee. It was an honor to share the stage with a legendary Country Music singer, songwriter, actor and comedian.

Please feel free to leave your get well messages to Mel Tillis in the comment section below.
