I am a huge baseball fan and always enjoy checking out the ValleyCats games at Joe Bruno Stadium. I hadn't had a chance to check out any games this season until today. Today was Camp Day at the Stadium which meant the game started at 11am. The weather was perfect for baseball!

There was a great highlight to this game. In the third inning, Manager Stubby Clapp was furious over a bad call over a hit by pitch. He went totally nuts, the kind of thing you usually just see in Sportscenter Highlights but not at a live game. He threw his helmet , mocked the umpires and threw some bats out of the dugout as he left after getting tossed.  It was one of the greatest things I think I have ever seen at a ValleyCats game or any game that I've ever been to for that matter!

It was also great to hear that we have a number of country fans on our hometown team.  A number of players came to bat with songs by Country artists such as Brantley Gilbert, Jake Owen, Luke Bryan and Chris Cagle. Unfortunately the ValleyCats lost this game to the Auburn DoubleDays, but it was still alot of fun.

If you have never gone to a game you are missing a day that's fun for everyone. Great Baseball action, fun giveaways between innings and food that's reasonably priced. It is certainly a highlight of the summer in the Capital Region.
