A local criminal used the classic 'Halloween' character as a disguise to steal cash and cigarettes.

I know, Halloween is probably the last thing you have on your mind with the late September heatwave we have been having. but, now you can thank a local criminal for bringing it to mind.

According to the Daily Gazette, a man wearing a Michael Myers mask from the classic movie 'Halloween' robbed the Scotia Citgo on Sacandaga Road Sunday night. Police say he got away with some cash and cigarettes. The robber was not in full character though as his weapon of choice was a handgun and thankfully no one was hurt.

I have to say if it was me alone in that store at night and someone walked in with a Michael Myers mask, even just to buy something, I would be freaked out. I can imagine this whole situation was unnerving, and maybe almost seemed like it was out of a movie due to the circumstances.

The Gazette is reporting Police describe the suspect '...as having a Hispanic accent and blue eyes, and about 5 feet, 10 inches tall. In addition to the mask, he was also wearing a baggy blue hooded sweatshirt, blue pants, and gloves.' They are asking anyone with any tips to call 518-374-3110, ext. 6.
