Saturday Morning (May 17), you're invited to join the Walk 'n' Roll in Schenectady's Central Park.

WGNA's Lou Roberts will emcee the special event to benefit the Spina Bifida Association of Northeastern New York.  We recently chatted with Michelle Miller who is raising funds for the event.

Q: What is the Walk N Roll?

A: The Walk-n-Roll is a fundraiser for the Spina Bifida Association of Northeastern NY which supports individuals with Spina Bifida and their families.

Q: Why did you get involved?

A: I got involved because as a person with Spina Bifida myself, I know how important the support of family, friends and the community and also how important it is to get the word out about what Spina Bifida is and the services available.

Q: How are people making a difference by supporting the Walk N Roll?

A: By sponsoring the walk and roll people are helping the Spina Bifida Association to provide assistance to people with Spina Bifida to be as independent as possible, connect with others who have similar abilities and challenges and advocating for what they need. The Spina Bifida Association also assists families and caregivers with connecting with learning about different services and resources available for medical, mobility, and emotional needs.

Q: What do you hope people take away from this fundraising campaign?

A: I hope people take away a little knowledge of Spina Bifida and the great things the association does for people for those within the local community.
