Saturday, May 4, 2013 Schenectady's Central Park will host the annual Walk N Roll to help raise funds for Spina Bifida.

Volunteer Shelley Miller explains the need to help with the annual event:

"Proceeds benefit the Spina Bifida Association of NY.  They're located here in the NE part of the state, but are the only chapter in the state, so they respond to the needs of all those with Spina Bifida and their families or caregivers throughout the state.  As someone with SB myself, I know how important the resources are that the SBA provides.  I'm proud to be participating in the event."

According to the Spina Bifida Association an estimated 166,000 people in the United States are currently living with Spina Bifida, the most common permanently disabling birth defect.

WGNA's Lou Roberts will emcee the Walk N Roll, If you'd like to donate or participate click here.
