Everything but the swing set has been removed from one of the playgrounds at Schenectady's Central Park, including the 3-decade's old triangle slide.

An insurance audit was done by the city and it was determined that much of the playground equipment was unsafe.

While there haven't been any injuries on the park playgrounds in quite some time, several of the pieces were outdated and potential hazards.

Officials are hoping that one day, new playground equipment will be brought in.

In the mean time, there are quite a few other attractions to enjoy if you're headed to the park.  And, while some people in the city are upset about the removal of the playground equipment, most people just want the children who play there to be safe.
