It’s been a staple in Saratoga Springs for decades, but The Saratoga Diner And Restaurant on South Broadway suddenly closed its doors last week.

In a story from the Times Union, some of the restaurant’s equipment to other business locations, including the owners other restaurant, The Traverse Restaurant in Gloversville, which is very successful.

The Spa Diner, (as it’s known by the locals) is one of the many other businesses that have closed in that area of South Broadway. According to The Saratogian, “a simple hand-written sign, “Closed,” was posted on the diner’s doors.”

One of the managers mentioned that she had no idea that this was going to happen, and she also has three children at home. Apparently some of the other employees were having problems getting paid. I hate to see any local business close, but we ate there last summer, and things didn’t seem good then.
