On Thursday, March 24 WGNA and Bud Light hosted the second round of Country Idol Karaoke.  Excitement filled Saratoga Casino and Raceway as the best singers in the Northeast competed for $5,000 and one lucky person hit a jackpot for $124,000!

Country Idol Karaoke at Vapor, the Northeast's premier night club inside Saratoga Casino, started with some rough performances that were immediately stopped.  The new judges policy of cutting bad singers kept us all from suffering through several minutes of painful listening.  Just like American Idol, if a singer didn't impress the judges, they were eliminated quickly from the competition.

WGNA judges Scott Blaine and Casey Danton joined Audiostars' front man Jay Yager to score and pick the top five singers.  It was another thrilling and unpredictable night full of talent!  However, only the best of the best make it to the top five; based on vocal ability, stage presence, and appearance.   The lucky singers to pass March's audition were Michael Bear, Nicola Breault, Mackenzie Sivret, Brandie Alexander, and Bobby Kendall.  These hopeful singing stars will join our other monthly finalists to compete for the grand prize of $5,000 and an appearance on local televsion June 16.

Vapor was packed from floor to balcony with hundreds of Country Music fans who occasionally try their luck on the casino floor.  John from Schenectady took a chance at the slots and won $124,000!  Watch this video of John's big win and keep your fingers crossed that you will hit the jackpot at our next Country Night.
