God broke the mold when he made Sandra Bullock.  After everything the Oscar winner has gone through in the last year with her martial problems, Bullock still manages to be stoic and generous amid her personal life.  The actress donated $1 million to the American Red Cross to assist in the relief of earthquake and tsunami victims in Japan (the charity told CNN).  And apparently this is the largest celebrity donation the charity has ever received.  Currently, the death toll in Japan is at more than six-thousand, five hundred with more than ten-thousand still missing.

What a gal, right?  It gets better.  Bullock has donated to the Red Cross in the past.  She donated a different $1 mil to Haiti back in January, following their tragic earthquake.  And she is also a strong supporter of continuing relief efforts in New Orleans.

Anonymous donations have been made to the Red Cross, since the disaster.  "Other celebs have used social media to encourage fans to support the Red Cross -- and it's paid off with $2.6 million in text message donations so far (Alla Byrne, People.com)."

I think when you know more about the person behind the character you see on the screen, it helps you to enjoy their work that much more or that much less.  Depending on the situation, it can affect how you like them as an actor.  Sandra Bullock is one of my favorite actresses because she is bubbly, cute, great at her job, classy and compassionate.  She has not once aired her dirty laundry for the purpose of making herself feel better and, she has walked away from her disgraceful marriage with Jesse James stronger.

Is there an actor or actress you think twice about going to see in a movie because of something that happened in real life, turned you off to them?  For instance, I don't like Angelina Jolie because of what she did to Jennifer Aniston.  On the other hand, I love Jennifer Aniston movies because of the way she rose above her situation and how she handled it with grace.
