The 2017 Billboard Music Awards are shaping up to be worth watching for country fans with the addition of Sam Hunt to the lineup. The hitmaker will sing his current No. 1 single, "Body Like a Back Road."

The news was revealed on Thursday morning (May 11) through the awards show Twitter handle.

Hunt joins previously-announced country act Florida Georgia Line on a growing list of performers, which also includes John Legend, Celin Dion, Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran and Lorde.

Florida Georgia Line’s Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard are the most-nominated country act leading up to the 2017 BBMAs ceremony, earning nods for Top/Duo Group, Top Country Artist, Top Country Album and more. Meanwhile, Luke Bryan is the sole country act to be nominated for the Billboard Chart Achievement Award.

While Hunt isn't nominated for any awards himself, he is continuing to break records with his current single "Body Like a Back Road." The song has topped the country radio airplay charts for the third week in a row. It hit No. 1 after only 12 weeks on the charts. The song is also currently the most-streamed country song of 2017, as it broke the Single Week Country Song Streaming record with over 11.8 million weekly streams. Hunt co-wrote “Body Like a Back Road” with Zach Crowell, Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne.
