Good news for RPI senior Mike Hermann, even though his phone didn't ring on draft day he still gets a chance to join an NFL roster.

Plenty of teams showed interest in the big arm senior. The Oakland Raiders even invited Hermann to mini camp but the San Diego Chargers signed the 6'5 250 pound QB to a contract and now he'll get a chance to really show what he's made of. It'll be an up hill climb for the South Carolina native going into camp as the fourth quarterback when teams only carry three into the regular season. It's pretty clear Phillip Rivers will be their starter and Charlie Whitehurst will be his back up but the third string QB is a 7th round draft pick out of Southern Utah named Brad Sorenson. It'll be fun to watch and cheer on Hermann!
