Road closures have been a part of everyday life in the Albany area and surrounding communities and states, because of Tropical Storm Irene. For some communities, things are very slowly returning to a functioning state. I don’t think they will ever be back to a normal state because so many things have been destroyed. Rotterdam Junction was a community that was hit pretty hard. The route 103 bridge may be closed for years, due to the damage.

Area Of 5S Closure

But this closure is a temporary one. It’s route 5S, the main road in Rotterdam Junction. It’ll be closed tomorrow (Wednesday) from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., between Gregg Road and Rynex Corners Road. This will be because there will be a lot of activity from National Grid, as they will be working in that area.

There will also be debris removal going on. The route you should take will be the New York State Thruway between exits 26 and 27. Do you know of any alternate routes for people to take in that area? It always helps when our listeners can help with other routes.
