It’s National Bike To Work Day on Friday, May 15. Not only is it a great way to get some exercise and save gas, but you might even get a little something for your effort.

Maybe you’ve been thinking about going to the gym, but you never seem to do it. This is a way that might help you get started on an exercise program, or maybe you’re just not a person that has any desire to join a gym.

Here’s a little added bonus from The Capital District Transportation Committee – They will actually give prizes for things like having the longest commute. If you can get your co-workers to join you, that could help you win a workplace an award. There are people that participate from all over the Albany area and beyond. There’s also been a trophy handed down from year to year for every Capital Region county.

According to the article in the Times Union, there are some special awards from Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan and Saratoga Springs Mayor Joanne Yepsen are both offering special prizes, too.

If you’d like more information or to register, just to Capitalmoves.org. By the way, the weather is supposed to be sunny for a good portion of the day.
