I have to admit my opinion of Ricky Gervais has always been a bit back and forth from comedic genius to "a bit too harsh". Last night though, on the Golden Globes I thought he was about as funny as anyone I had ever seen present an award.

If you do not know who Ricky is he is the original creator and star of "The Office" in England before it was developed for TV here in the states. If you like the humor and style of "The Office" than you probably get him.

He did however get fired from hosting the Golden Globes for being a bit too "cruel" in his jokes about some very high society celebrities at the awards show. The Stars and sometimes their fans came down on his approach quite a bit. That is why it was so great to see his "rebuttal" if you will last night when he was chosen to present one of the awards. Especially on a night when the theme of the evening was "free speech".

I thought it was beautifully crafted and about as well delivered as any comedy I have seen. I will let you be the judge though.
