A document was discovered by an Albany-area woman while she was cleaning out her mom and dad’s house last year.

What she didn’t expect to find was a piece of paper that may be worth somewhere between $100,000 and $200,00. Peggy Labarr found the document in a box full of her father’s books. She discovered a pristine document that was titled "The American Crisis." Also printed on it were "Copyright of 1776" and "Printed on December 19, 1776." It was a publication of American patriot Thomas Paine. It was an essay that was read to inspire soldiers in December 1776.

Mark Lawson was the appraiser that Labarr and her husband took the document to. The document was sent to New York City. From the story that I saw on News 10 ABC, the historic document will be auctioned off next month. Labarr and her family will be attending the auction.
