Actress Reese Witherspoon was hit by a car while jogging Wednesday.  She was taken to a Santa Monica, California hospital to be “treated for minor injuries,” according to Twitterers.  Law enforcement told TMZ.com, the injuries were minor and nothing life-threatening.

Witherspoon was hit around 11am Wednesday morning while trying to cross the street.  A car driven by an 84-year old driver travelling at about 19 mph failed to stop and struck the actress.  The driver was issued a ticket for failure to yield to a predestrian.

Witherspoon is known for her acting roles in “Sweet Home Alabama,” “Legally Blonde,” and most infamously, “Walk the Line.”
