Sad news for Reba McEntire yesterday, as her dad has passed away at the age of 86.

According to a message on Facebook from Susie McEntire, Reba’s younger sister Mr. McEntire was 86 years old and leaves behind wife Jacqueline, daughters Reba, Susie and Alice and son Pake.

Reba hasn't commented yet on her father’s death.  Three years ago Mr. McEntire suffered from a stroke and Reba spoke about his hospital stay and of planning his funeral three different times before he finally made a recovery.

Clark McEntire was a four-time World Champion steer roper in the late ‘50s and ‘60s. He was inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame in 1979.

The song 'Daddy' from Reba's ‘Out of a Dream’ album tells his story.

Earlier this week, McEntire was on cloud 9 as she became the first artist to sign with the Nash Icon Music record label.

We're expecting new music from Reba early next year.

We wish her and her family all the best, and we're sorry for their loss.
