Protest Planned At A Little Girl’s Funeral
January 10, 2011 7:20 PM 9 year old Christina Taylor Green was killed at the Arizona shooting rampage.
Her funeral is scheduled for this Thursday afternoon in Tucson, Arizona. Thanks to some of my coworkers and friends on Face Book, I found out that there is a protest planned by the very controversial Westboro Baptist Church, which allegedly has a history for causing problems at many events.
I don’t care if you disagree about something and wish to protest against it, in an orderly manor of course. But come on, this is a little girl’s funeral. When I read about this protest, besides feeling sick to my stomach, this really infuriated me. This is an innocent 9 year old little girl who happened to be in the way of a sick individual. She did nothing wrong.
My heart goes out to the family of the little girl, and of course all of the victims. I just hope this group of individuals changes their minds about their protest. I wonder how they would feel if it was their child.
