Presidential Trip To Schenectady On Hold

Tuesday, January 11th, President Obama was supposed to visit the General Electric facility in Schenectady.

He has postponed the trip due the tragic Arizona shootings. The trip will be rescheduled.The president was expected to be speaking at General Electric with their CEO regarding a new battery product line they will be manufacturing locally.The new nickel-sodium batteries manufacturing program took advantage of federal stimulus money and created 350 jobs.

The White House will send out a press release when they have rescheduled the visit.

Obama's calendar was cleared this week after the assassination attempt on Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.
