Police Arrest Couple Who Burned Down Buskirk Home, Leaving Child Inside

A Washington County couple have been arrested, with police saying they torched their home in Buskirk, leaving one of their children on the couch while setting the fire. Frank Ruggles Sr and Leann Coon were arrested at a Hoosick Falls motel Thursday morning. 

According to police the couple received money from their insurance company with $102,000 to come. Ruggles and Coon had five children that lived in their house with them and relocated four of the five before setting the fire. Police say the couple left the fifth child, a three year old, sleeping on the couch.

Police have charged Ruggles and Coon with arson, insurance fraud, and endangering the welfare of a child.

An internet search turned up a wedding registry site that lists this upcoming November as a wedding date for the couple.
