I just heard that Andy Pettitte announced on Friday that he is ending his retirement and is heading back to the New York Yankees.  So to confirm, I headed to the Yankees website and there it was:  Pettitte comes out of retirement, joins Yanks.

I'm sure Yankees' fans are excited everywhere.  Afterall, Pettitte is the winningest Yankees pitcher in post season history.

Pettitte's retirement was brief.  Basically, he took last year off.  But evidently, his desire to pitch is back.

According to the MLB.com article, after a secret showcase this week the Yankees signed Pettitte to a minor league contract.  He is expected to report to Spring Training on Tuesday.
