Patron Island Bridge Construction In April

If you’re one of the many commuters that travel between Albany and Rensselaer on I-90 every day, there might be some delays starting in April.

That’s when construction is supposed to start on the Patroon Island Bridge. It’s all part of a $146 Million rehabilitation project.

In stories from the Times Union and Daily Gazette, you can expect lane closures in both directions, mostly at night, as crews will be doing some structural repairs and also replacing the bridges decking.

In May, there may also be some possible ramp closures. There’s been a Patroon Island Bridge Facebook page set up about the project.
