Past Legal Issues for New Owner Of Local Mall

Back in December, I told you about that the Rotterdam Square Mall was for sale in an online auction.

The mall now has a new owner, Mehran Kohansiek, also known as Mike Kohan. I read the story in The Times Union, and it seems that he has some legal issues on other properties that he’s purchased. His properties are other parts of the country including malls in Matteson, Illinois, Northwood, Ohio and Worthington, Minnesota.

He stated in the story about he buys distressed malls and attempts to turn them around. Sometimes it works for him and sometimes it doesn’t.

Hopefully Rotterdam Mall, which is almost 90 percent occupied, will remain in business, and his legal battles won’t affect this mall.
