Back in February, there was a story about a gentleman from the Salem area that began an organization to help people that may be handicapped, have a low income and the elderly, with various things around the house.

His name is Joe Allen. The one thing that seemed to catch everyone’s attention was how he would just go to an elderly person’s home during the winter and use his snow blower to clear their driveways and walkways, all without compensation. Now with the warmer weather, he’s out helping some of the less fortunate people in the Washington County area with various things around their homes, like mowing the lawn and some general property maintenance.

Joe would like to expand Operation LED, but for right now, he’s just focusing close to home since he is basically a one man operation. I had the pleasure to talk to Joe about Operation LED. He is my guest on our public affairs show, Capital Region Sunday. You can hear more about Operation LED and how you can help out Joe, on Sunday morning between 6:00 a.m. and 6:10 a.m. on 107.7 WGNA.
