Old Songs Are Usually the Best – Come Hear Them!
I happened to see this in the Times Union-an advertisement for an “Old Songs Festival”. Sounded really interesting, so I thought I’d help some fellow musicians to spread the word-and it’s happening this weekend, so please read on!
Songs from the Civil War. It got me to thinking- you don’t hear alot of original war songs anymore! Even in the 60’s you had Country Joe and the Fish songs, like the “Fixin’ To Die Rag” (about Vietnam) and Bob Dylan songs. This would really be interesting to hear, and it’s happening this weekend at the Old Songs Community Arts Theatre in Voorheesville, NY

And P.S. If you are a local musician or group, let me know if you have events going on. I remember those days and how difficult it was to get the word out, so it’s the least I can do is share my blogspace with you!
