They are set up for the protest in Academy Park across from the state capitol, mostly in tents, as are most of the participants across the country. They are seeking a better tented shelter possibly with a walled canvas complete with a stove. T

he people in Albany that have been camping out for the past few weeks are conducting a very peaceful protest, with no arrests. This is unlike some of the other protests in the country which police made numerous arrests. The protest was inspired by the anti-Wall Street demonstration in New York City.

One of the statements from the Occupy Wall Street website sates that “we cannot be content, no matter how high that general standard of living may be, if some fraction of our people—whether it be one-third or one-fifth or one-tenth—is ill-fed, ill-clothed, ill-housed, and insecure.”

The protesters plan to remain camped out until the government agrees to a change for everyone, creating better living situations, especially with finances.
