Mental health issues are a growing concern all over the country. Now mental health programs are hoping to raise awareness through the New York state Department of Motor Vehicles. In an effort to end the stigma of mental health illnesses, New York state has unveiled their latest campaign. These new plates will highlight those who suffer from mental health issues to get the help they need. Twenty-five dollars, the annual service charge, of all the special plates sold will go into the mental illness anti stigma fund.

The plates will don a light green ribbon with the phrase "Healthy Minds, Healthy New York". Above the ribbon reads, "Support Mental Health Awareness".

The new plates are available through the Department of Motor Vehicles and online. To get more information and to order these plates, click on the DMV website.

Lawmakers hope that this license plate not only raises more awareness but also raises more money for the mental health anti stigma fund.
