David Gardner of Waterford when left somewhat speechless when we called him Friday morning to tell him that his daughter nominated him to be November's Hometown Hero. David's got quite a bit to be proud of, but as you'll hear in the audio, his most meaningful accomplishments come from home, not work.

Dave's been a volunteer fire firefighter for 20 plus years, an EMT, and dispatcher for the Saratoga county sheriff's department and Waterford Police Department.  It was his 23 year old daughter Jordan who nominated him to be November's Hometown Hero.  He reluctantly accepted the accolades, but preferred to deflect the conversation a bit to focus on his most important mission; to raise his two girls "the right way."  Clearly he's done a good job.  It was a pleasure speaking with him and offering him a simple 'Thank You'.
