After a month of raising food for the Food Pantries For the Capital District, we have a winner for the 4th Annual Capital District High School Hunger Games presented by SEFCU!

And congratulations to Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons! For the 4th consecutive year, they have won the Hunger Games by raising 6,600 pounds of food. Every year the great kids and staff at Notre Dame always step up to support the Hunger Games, and this year was no different. Year after year they amaze us! As our winning school, they will now receive a free, private concert from Arista Nashville Recording artist LANCO!

But, this is not the full story. The full story is everybody wins with the Hunger Games. We had 10 great high schools participate. Notre Dame, Colonie, Duanesburg, Galway, Waterford, Corinth, New Lebanon, Shenendehowa, Averill Park and Schoharie all helped us raise over 16,000 pounds of food this year for our local food pantries. Because of these greats kids, a lot of meals will be provided to the hungry right here in the Capital Region.

As the Hunger Games have ended, the need for food has not. You can still help the food pantries by donating food or your time. For info how you can help, click here.

Thanks to our sponsors as well - Albany Medical Emergent Care and the US Marines for supporting this great cause!
