New York State’s largest pumpkin has been discovered, weighing in at 1,613 pounds. The pumpkin is nearly 6 feet across and a little less than 4 feet tall.  This pumpkin even won first place in the World Pumpkin Weigh-Off.  The event was held earlier this fall at the Great Pumpkin Farm in Clarence, outside Buffalo.

Gary Adams has now been deemed the pumpkin growing king of New York.  Adams is a plumber by trade.  He owns a 60-acre plot of property where he typically grows foreign perennials, in the town of Lafayette, just south of Syracuse.  Not only did he grow this very large pumpkin, but Adams is known for growing "gargantuan gourds" as well.
