    Schenectady, NY - 12345

    GE District

Not only is it odd that the Electric City has only zip codes with 123 to start. It also has one like such which makes it easy for kids to imagine that is Santa Claus's zip code. It only makes sense right? If you wish to know what happens to all of Kris Kringle's mail, click here.

Closer to Connecticut than NY, Has a CT Zip

Alright, when you are actually part of New York as part of Long Islands Suffolk County but have to travel into Connecticut to get to the Island. That's odd. However, what makes it truly weird is the fact that CT has Zip Codes that Start with 06 yet this is in New York. That's strange. Their mail comes via Connecticut.

    Holtsville, NY - 00501

    America's Lowest Zip Code

So, my first question with this is why 00501? America please respond to me. Why didn't you start off the zip code system with well 00000 or at least 00500? Either way, another New York town to make the top five. Pretty sweet. Just like Schenectady, 00501 is the zip code for a singular place. An IRS building.

    America's Highest Zip Code

In case you where wondering, no the US doesn't have a zip code of 99999. A fact that I myself, just learned. Either way, still a cool distinction to have the highest zip code in the country.

This is Smokey Bears Zip Code

Really, why does Smokey Bear have a zip code? Does this cartoon character really receive that much mail? To me this seems absolutely insane. Maybe I'm judging too hard. Either way, a character to have their own zip code. Fun fact. Break that out at the family dinner.
