With the proposed casinos possibly coming to the Capital Region area, there may be another factor that could effect the outcome for them.

Massachusetts voters made the decision to keep the law to allow the building of three casinos in their state. That decision will result in a MGM Casino to be built in Springfield, which is about 90 miles from the Albany area, and a Wynn Resort in Everett near Boston.  It seems that the voters in the Bay State want the partnership of the casino gaming industry, and consider this to be an economic engine in the commonwealth.

We had an article about a group that doesn't want a casino in East Greenbush. A spokesperson for the group ‘Save East Greenbush’ believes that having gambling in the area will now be even more pointless.

In the article from New 10 ABC, the Mayor of Rensselaer, Dan Dwyer thinks that because Rensselaer will have the 'Hard Rock Cafe’, that could draw some people away from no-name casinos in Massachusetts.
