NASCAR issued warning notices to five race teams who failed pre-race inspections in Kansas!

In an effort to end the trend of race cars failing pre race inspections, NASCAR implemented new rules and penalties for pre-race qualifying last month. In the memo NASCAR released, they outlined new rules and new penalties.

These new rules and penalties include:

Cars that fail qualifying inspection twice will receive a written warning.

And:

Cars that fail qualifying inspection three times also will be penalized 15 minutes of practice time at the next event.

Now, just three weeks later, these new rules are put to the test. Following failed inspections last week in Kansas, five race teams were issued warning notices. The race teams of Dale Earnhardt, Joey Logano, Casey Mears, Paul Menard and Cole Whitt were all issued written warnings as they all failed pre-qualifying inspection twice! Yes, twice!

The memo last month went on to say there will be additional penalties if this trend occurs in other races as well. So, these teams who already have warnings need to be careful!
