My Trip Down Memory Lane With The 2012 CMA Nominees [PHOTOS]

As I was looking over the nominees for this years CMA awards, I realized that over the years WGNA has given me the opportunity to meet many of them.  So I thought I would take you on a trip with me down memory lane.  Together, Jake and I were able to bring you interviews with some of this years nominees.  Take a look!

Male Vocalist of the Year:

Eric Church.  Broken leg and all came to talk to us.  I remember Jake saying “he’s gonna be big!”  You saw him at countryfest…he was AWESOME!

Blake Shelton is always a fun interview.  You never know what he is going to say.  This meeting was no different.  I remember laughing the whole time!  He was at Countyfest before this interview and I reminded him how he hid on his bus when I got on and had Kieth Anderson ask me my thoughts on his new girlfriend Miranda! Then he jumped out disappointed I didn’t say anything bad! It’s always a good time when he is around!

Vocal Group of the Year

The Band Perry!  Look at how young they were when we met them!  We said back then, they are the sweetest family ever and every time we see them they confirm that.  Such great people and a great group!

Lady Antebellum.  What a great time I had talking with them.  Charles and I bonded over our broken hands and our height!  Hillary got married in our area not too long ago!!  I like to think it’s because we made such a good impression on her!!

Eli Young Band!  GREAT guys!  These guys are so down to earth, when we saw then the next day getting ready to sing the Opry, they stopped unloading the bus to talk to me and we talked for 40 minutes about life on the road and country music.  It was great!  Do you remember them at Northern Lights!  Sold out crowd and they delivered a great show for us!

Female Vocalist

Taylor Swift.  I was so excited to meet her and get an autograph for my son.  In 2009 when this photo was taken, she was just starting out, but I knew she was going to be huge!  I still think of that red hat every time I hear her!  I think she may have this one wrapped up for 2012!
