My Promotion Could Reveal My At Work Relationship – Daily Dilemma

Here is Today's Daily Dilemma:

There is an open position, a promotion really, at my office that I want to apply for.  Simple, right?  Just apply?  Well, here is the deal.  I have been working here for 2 years and already earned 2 promotions.  My Boyfriend helped get me my initial job.  He has been here for 7 years and no one at work knows we are dating. We work in different departments so we don't raise any red flags.  The new position would put me in his department and I am not sure we would be able to work so closely every day and continue to date.   I want both a career and my boyfriend.  How do I make this decision?  Do I just chance it and face consequences later?
