Turns out there was a sixth secret star at Proctors last night but this one didn't sing, play the guitar, or tell any cool stories. Instead, he sat in the front row with his wife taking every moment in like it could be his last.  "Golden Years" Doug was a special guest of ours last night at Secret Star and having him in the crowd was the highlight of my night.

Last nights Secret Star show was incredible.  All five artists warmed right up to the sold-out crowd the moment they took their spot on the stage.  The warmest greeting of all came moments before the show started when I was able to introduce myself to "Golden Years" Doug.  Doug is the man who called into the show a few weeks ago with incredible perspective about living life to the fullest each and every day.  You see, Doug was given the news about a year ago, that his lung disease will prove to be fatal and that his time here is very limited.  Could be a few weeks, could be a few months.  Doug reminded us that our "Golden Years" are not when we're retired.  He taught us that this moment is golden and that every moment should be treasured and cherished.  Doug and his "Hot Pistol" wife Dawn (his words, not mine) were an absolute joy to be around.

Doug and Dawn had a blast! They sang, they danced, they took in all the bright lights and great music on a star-studded evening at Proctors in Schenectady, not realizing that they were shining the brightest of all.
