If you love the outdoors, the Saratoga County Park just gained a few more reasons for you to explore it.

Moreau Lake State Park in Gansevoort is officially growing! According to a Times Union report, Governor Cuomo's office has announced 131 acres are being added to the park.  Apparently the land that is being added is going to add some sweet scenic views of the southern Adirondacks, the Hudson Valley and more. The Times Union says the new land will also enhance bald eagle watching in the winter!

As far as access to the new land, the Times Union story says the state will build "...a new trailhead and parking area at the Sherman Island Boat Launch on Spier Falls Road to provide access to the new parcel." The new Moreau land will also be open to hunters during the season.

Maybe a little outdoors journey to check out some wintering bald eagles at Moreau is just what you need to get you through the colder season. Nothing like some fresh, cold air and scenice views to make you feel more alive this time of year. And it sounds like the new land will just make Moreau an even more desirable spot to visit year round.
