There are two new roundabouts to be constructed in Malta. In just a few weeks, construction will be starting. This will make it the 14th and 15th roundabouts for the Town Of Malta. The new roundabouts will be constructed just off of Exit 11 of The Northway, on Round Lake Road. They will be at the intersections of Round Lake Road and Chango Drive and Round Lake Road and Ruhle Road. Work is expected to continue for the next few months, right into October. Town of Malta officials believe that the new roundabouts will make the area of the busy road safer, and alleviate some of the congestion in the area.

According to the article from The Times Union, this construction project isn’t going without opposition from some of the residents in the area. Some of them don’t believe that it will not make it safer, especially for some of the elderly and elementary school students. Some of the other residents voiced their opinions about using traffic signals at the intersections, along with lanes designated for turning and also buttons on the traffic signals to be used by pedestrians.

Over the past few years, we have had so many roundabouts constructed around the Albany area and surrounding communities, not to mention how many have been constructed in Malta alone. So we want to know what you think about them. Please take our poll.
