The last few weeks we have enjoyed some milder temperatures in the Capital Region, but that is about to change.

We have had our January thaw, and as we head into February another spell of bitter cold temperatures is on the way. According to the Weather Channel, more arctic air is about to arrive in the Northeast as February arrives. Most of this week we should have seasonal temperatures, but Friday is when the real cold will arrive. (Just in time for Ground Hog Day, right?)

The first weekend of February will be temperatures well below freezing with low's in the single digits and the Weather Channel says the cold snap is likely to last at least the first week of the month.

The good news is as we are getting this latest blast of cold weather as we head in to the second half of winter. We can see the light at the end of the tunnel, and spring will be here before you know it!
