After the tragic accident that took Troy Gentry's life earlier this year, Eddie Montgomery is getting Montgomery Gentry back on the road including a stop here in the Capital Region.

Eddie vowed to keep touring as Montgomery Gentry after he lost his friend and band-mate, and the band will be back on the road in 2018 including a stop at Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park Friday March 2 at 8pm.

First, it's great to see Eddie getting back out there to do his thing. I can imagine how difficult the last few months have been for Eddie as he not only lost his friend and musical partner when Troy passed away, but he also stopped doing what he loved for a while - performing as Montgomery Gentry. I can't think of a better way for Eddie to pay tribute to Troy than by keeping the music alive and keeping Montgomery Gentry going.

I have not seen an official word on who will fill Troy's shoes, but I have read in a few places various members of the band will take turns singing Troy's parts on all those Montgomery Gentry classics.
