Montgomery, Gentry And Bankruptcy

Getty Images

You thought you had financial problems after all your Christmas shopping, wait until you hear how bad it is for Eddie Montgomery.

Eddie was forced to file Chapter 7 bankruptcy because he is $13.4 million in debt. Reports are this is mostly due to the “abrupt” closing of his Eddie Montgomery’s Steakhouse in Harrodsburg, Kentucky,  last May.

He opened the steakhouse in 2009 with his then wife. The couple divorced three years later. According to the Lexington Harold- Leader Montgomery’s attorney said, quote, “Eddie’s struggles in business and marriage brought him to this point.  It is very common with individuals dealing with divorce and business closure to have to seek out bankruptcy relief.”
