He thought that someone may have stolen them and then sold them at an out of state auction. After Robert Thrane conducted a search of his property and surrounding area, he called Niskayuna Police to report that the horses were missing, and possibly stolen.

Thrane is a little happier because the horses ended up returning to their pen earlier today. The horses came back home on their own. According to an article in the Times Union, Lt. Michael Stevens from the Niskayuna Police Department “suspects that the horses came back when they got hungry”. It’s believed that the horses got out through a hole in the fence, which has now been repaired.
