Miranda Lambert Reveals Who Wears the Pants in Her Family
It's no secret that country star Miranda Lambert is a spitfire, but she also has a sensitive side. In a new interview, the 'Fastest Girl in Town' singer admitted who wears the pants in her family, and even dished on Pistol Annies, her upcoming tour with Dierks Bentley and more -- including her 2012 CMAs Song of the Year nomination for 'Over You' and the emotional video that goes along with it.
Taste of Country Nights host Jeremy Robinson caught up with Lambert in Nashville in preparation for Thursday night's (Nov. 1) CMA Awards. The pair are old friends, and when Robinson inquired as to who wears the pants in Lambert's marriage to fellow country star Blake Shelton, she shot back, "Who do you think?"
"You," Robinson answered -- to which the singer quickly replied, "Right. Go with your gut instincts!"
Lambert also joked about career competition between the famous spouses, but on a more serious note, she said she's particularly happy to be nominated for Song of the Year for 'Over You,' which she and Shelton wrote together.
"I'm excited. You know, Song of the Year . . . we wrote that song together. It's really cool to have a nomination together as writers," she spilled. "It's so unique. We wrote the song about Blake's brother that passed away, and I've never had a song nominated for Song of the Year that I wrote, especially with my husband. So it's a once in a lifetime nomination."
The singer admitted shooting the song's video was especially draining. "It was hard," she explained. "It was definitely an emotional day. I had to hold it all in for a long time before I could let it all out at the end of the video."
