Mini-Chowderfest At a Ballston Lake Trustco Bank? Oh Yea! [GALLERY]

I will admit - live-on-location broadcasts do have their perks - for both our listeners and the staff (well, at least for one staff member)   It was Customer Appreciation Day at Trustco Bank in Ballston Lake, and I certainly appreciated the complementary cups of  chowder there too.  Here is my review of the Top 5

What a great event at Trustco Bank.  Surrounded by money and chowder - how great is that?   As for the latter? All the restaurants got 2 thumbs up in my book.   Companion loved them too (that was our live on location guru, Flounder. .  How ironic to have a fish at a chowder event?  Here were the restaurants that attended with links to their sites

DiDonna's Restaurant  was the first that I sampled.  I have to give this nice lady an extra high rating for very generously delivering the cup of soup to our table.  Amazingly good soup.

Matt's Cape House on Route 9 in Clifton Park.   Like them on Facebook.  You'll really "like" the selection - (ask for the chowder - it was awesome)

Close your eyes.... Couldn't you imagine yourself at a seaside cafe around sunset sipping on a cup of hot, delicious chowder?  Enter the Sunset Cafe right on front street in the quaint little village of Ballston Spa.  I know, Ballston Spa isn't on the water, but work with me here.  Absolutely delicious soup.  Can't wait to see what else they serve there!

Gershon's Deli right on Upper Union Street, Schenectady.  They brought everything from 'soup to nuts" to this Trustco event.  They brought sandwiches  as well - and this was definitely not my first rodeo with them - I live in Niskayuna and have partaken many times in their delicious deli delicacies.

Last but not least was Salty's Pub in Clifton Park.  (photo not included).  They were tearing down as I was taking these shots, but everyone in the  area knows Salty's!  Great chowder samples, and they weren't salty!

There you have it.  A great event put on by a great home town bank.
