Plans are underway to build a permanent memorial at the site of last Saturday's limo crash.

According to a WNYT report, owners of the Apple Barrel Country Store and Cafe announced Friday they would like to '...create a permanent memorial so the people had a place to come and heal, but also remember those 20 lives lost.'

A non-profit foundation has been set up to create the memorial. WNYT says the Reflections Memorial Foundation already has some events plans to raise funds for the memorial including a concert in Middleburgh November 3rd. In additions, Union College is teaming up with Skeeter Creek for another fundraising concert.

Almost a week has gone by since the deadly crash and it is still hard to comprehend the loss of life and the pain of family and friends who have to pick up the pieces after such a terrible loss. As difficult as these days have been, efforts like this and the outpouring of support from the Capital Region I can imagine has hopefully created some level of comfort for those who were directly affected by this tragedy.

If you would like to help the fundraising effort, donations can be made at any Bank of Richmondville location. You can also mail a donation to this address: Bank of Richmondville, PO Box 488, Schoharie, NY 12157.
