Melissa McCarthy Couldn’t Get Anyone to Make Her an Oscar Dress

When I read this story last night, my heart broke.

MELISSA MCCARTHY learned a few years ago that if you're not skinny, it doesn't matter how famous you are, because she had trouble finding a designer who'd make her an Oscar dress.  An OSCAR DRESS!

It inspired her to start her own plus-size clothing line.  She tells "Redbook" magazine, quote, "When I go shopping, most of the time I'm disappointed."

"Two Oscars ago, I couldn't find anybody to do a dress for me.  I asked five or six designers . . . very high-level ones who make lots of dresses for people . . . and they all said no."

In case you care, the designer who finally took the job was Daniela Kurrle . . . And she's made several dresses for Melissa since.

I wish Melissa would have called out, by name, every designer who wouldn't help her!  We need to know so we can buy, or not buy, accordingly!
