Times are tough these days and money is certainly tight, especially with the price of gas up to $4 a gallon. Many people are in need of a new job because of being laid off or maybe even a part time job to help make ends meet. McDonald's is looking to help folks out with their National Hiring Day tomorrow.

Nationwide, the fast food chain is looking to hire 50,000 people.  Here in the Capital Region, 70 restaurants will participate and look to hire 400 new employees.

According to the Times Union, 3 area restaurants will be holding special events for National Hiring Day. Those being the chains in Watervliet, Five Corners in Rotterdam and off of Exit 18 in Queensbury.  Job hunters can apply at any location or online at www.mcnewyork.com.

Jan Fields, president of McDonald's U.S.A.,says  the new hires would increase the U.S. workforce to 700,000 and that the average pay of the jobs is $8.30 an hour and some restaurant mangers can make $50,000 a year.

Some people may scoff at the idea of working at a fast food restaurant, but i say a job is a job, as long as you are making a living it doesnt matter what you do. Just try to be the best at it!
