If you enjoy the nightlife in the city of Albany, you may have to change your party time.

Bars in the city close at 4 a.m., but if bar owners cooperate with Mayor Jerry Jennings, closing time will be at 2 a.m. The mayor is asking the bar and tavern owners to close early for everyone's safety. He also acknowledged that there are increased calls for police, because of fights, drunk and disorderly behavior, and even more serious crimes, between 2 - 5 a.m.

Mayor Jennings is hoping the owners will cooperate to possibly make Albany a safer place for everyone. I would hope that if this does happen, if people start to party earlier it doesn't mean trouble would also be starting earlier.
